Timothy "Tim" Clapton passed away on February 21, 2024, in Lethbridge, Alberta, at the age of 49. He was born on April 5th, 1973, to Jenny Slemko and Ian Clapton.
Tim led a life filled with passion and dedication. From his early days attending Catholic Central High School, where he excelled as an all-star running back and played a pivotal role in winning the city championship in 1991, Tim left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Following his education, Tim embarked on a successful career as a drywaller, carpenter and painter, where he showcased his exceptional skills and work ethic. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and was well-known for his meticulous attention to detail.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Tim had a zest for life that extended into his hobbies. Whether he was scouring the shorelines and coulees for ammonite treasures, turning discarded items into valuable assets or casting his line into the water for a day of fishing, he was someone who easily discovered and shared joy and connection in his world.
Tim's willingness to always lend a hand to anyone, including strangers, was a testament to his generous spirit. He embodied kindness and compassion in every interaction, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
However, Tim's greatest source of pride and joy was his family. He was a loving husband to Deb Dragland and a devoted stepfather to Blake, Ashlee, and Alyssa Kennedy. His grandchildren, Raheem and Ava Kennedy brought immense happiness into his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Tim is survived by his wife Deb, children and grandchildren, as well as his mother Jenny Slemko, father Ian (Clasina), sisters Alison (Antonio) Clapton and Katherine Anderson, and brothers Christian (Kathy), John and Adam, along with a host of extended family and friends who will carry his memory forward with love and admiration. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Clive and Audrey Smith and John and Rachel Clapton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Boys and Girls Club of Lethbridge.
Tim's vibrant spirit, unwavering kindness and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, forever cherished in our hearts
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 2, 2024 at 2:00pm at Salmon and Sons Funeral Home, 433 Stubb Ross Rd S, Lethbridge.
